2016 Committee Volunteers
Serving on an Association Committee can do many things. It can allow you to be a part of the decision making process, it can acquaint you with changes in the law, it can involve you in educational opportunities available, it gives you input into the structure and future of the Association and it gives you the privilege of working with other Association members you may not know.
MCAR is recruiting Committee Members for 2016. Please select up to three choices. We will try to honor your requests. If you are currently on a committee and want to continue, please complete the form below. We value your experience and time.
The strength of MCAR is only as strong as the Committees and Members choose to make it. Be a part of the strength and growth of you Monroe County Association of REALTORS.

BUDGET & FINANCE* (Must have served on the MLS or Association Board of Directors)
The Budget and Finance committee shall be responsible for preparing and reviewing the budget and for making recommendations to the Board of Directors. The Treasurer shall be the Chairman of the Committee.
The Building Committee will oversee the maintenance and repair of the Building and make recommendations to the Board of Directors for approval.
The Education/Technology Committee shall have the responsibility of providing general educational program and projects, including cooperating with the extension services of the colleges and universities, and other Associations; also to provide educational service for all new and active members.
GRIEVANCE * (must attend the Professional Standard workshop on an bi-annual basis)
The Grievance Committee shall investigate all complaints received by the Monroe County Association and shall function as provided in the Monroe County Association Code of Ethics and Arbitration Manual.
LEGISLATIVE/POLITICAL AFFAIRS (RPAC):
To review all legislative and political affairs for the Association and all active members and any action that may be needed to the Board of Directors for approval and shall be responsible to ensure the Monroe County Association is meeting its State RPAC goal.
The Marketing & Membership Committee will focus on membership, their needs and marketing of the Association and/or its affiliate members and any other work involving the community to enhance and grow the Association.
Identifies and evaluates issues of legal liability relevant to the real estate industry and recommends methods of reducing or eliminating such liabilities. Additionally, the committee explores and recommends methods of practices, which can result in reducing the risk of exposure to legal problems faces by the membership including working with the Education and Special Events Committee to educate and assist the members of the Association on the Fair Housing Laws and the Affirmative Marketing Program according to the Affirmative Marketing Agreement.
SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE:
The Committee shall be responsible for all General Membership Meetings, Outings, and other social events for the Association. This committee will select all dates and locations of functions. The Committee shall also be responsible for the Monroe County Association Shelter Fund and raising funds to support it.
